All of ShakeOut is based on the science behind a catastrophic earthquake(s) that would impact all of California, and regionally. Registration is OPEN NOW!

Business Civic Leadership Center

BCLC works with leaders from the business, government, and nonprofit sectors to address and act on shared goals.  Our overarching goal is to help build good will, good relations, and good markets by focusing on issues that affect businesses from a social and economic standpoint. Currently, BCLC and PGP are working together on National Disater Help Desk for Businesses ( 1-888-MY-BIZ-HELP  1-888-MY-BIZ-HELP ), which have included disasters such as the California Wildfires & Iowa flooding business recovery.

Earthquake Country
(Earthquake Country Alliance)

This website, while designed to assist Southern California, has comprehensive solutions for anyone living with earthquakes. This can be used by homeowners, businesses, schools, or other organizations.  The site is adding new sections almost every month, so visit repeatedly to see what's new. Some free materials online can be ordered for distribution (eg. Putting Down Roots in Earthquake Country; the 7 Steps to an Earthquake Resilient Business). The "Shift Happens: Secure Your Space" includes how to "Secure Your Stuff" & "Secure Your Building". These pages are valuable by explaining how to protect people and property from injury or loss.

Terremotos (Earthquake Country website in Spanish - Earthquake Country Alliance)

These conferences, websites, organizations and tools can be of assistance. Let us know if you have something more to add.

Stop Disaster
(Interactive Disaster-Simulation Game)

Stop Disasters Game, launched by the UN/ISDR secretariat, is a new educational tool to promote disaster risk reduction among children who are the most vulnerable when disasters occur. With three levels of difficulty, this game learns how to save lives and livelihoods by preparing for a tsunami, earthquake, hurricane, floods and wildfire. For example, within a budget and time limit, players have different upgrading options, like building more resilient houses, if not demolishing them for being in risky areas, together with setting up defences with trees, early warning systems and walls. Developed by Playerthree, targets children aged from 9 to 16.
